M1: Reset Your Fundamentals

Reset Your Fundamentals

Objective: Rebuild a consistent, repeatable pre-shot setup by auditing your stance, grip, bridge and head position.

Why it matters: Most inconsistency in casual players comes from an unstable or ever-changing setup, not bad luck. Fix the setup and everything else in this course becomes easier to learn.

Watch: [Video placeholder] A walkthrough demonstrating correct stance, grip, bridge and head position from front and side angles.

Learn: A short guide covering the five setup checkpoints: stance width and balance, grip pressure, bridge stability, head and eye position over the cue, and building a repeatable pre-shot routine.

See it: [Image placeholder] Annotated photos showing correct stance, grip and bridge, with common faults marked.

Practise: Run through your pre-shot routine on 10 straight shots without potting, checking stance, grip, bridge and head position each time before striking.

Test yourself: 1) What are the four physical checkpoints of a repeatable setup? 2) Why should you avoid changing technique after a single miss? 3) What is a pre-shot routine and why does it matter?

Challenge: Film yourself playing five shots and check that your stance and head position stay identical on each one.

Common mistakes: Changing grip, stance or bridge after every missed shot instead of trusting a consistent setup.

Coaching cue: Before every shot, ask: is my setup identical to the last one?

Completion criteria: Demonstrate the same stance, grip, bridge and head position on 10 consecutive shots without needing to reset mid-shot.
