Alignment & Cue Action
Alignment: Seeing the Line
Objective: Correctly identify the shot line and align the body and cue to it.
Why it matters: Good technique aimed at the wrong line still misses. Alignment comes before delivery.
Watch: Video contrasting shot line, cue line and pocket line on real shots.
Learn: Guide explaining how to find the contact point and align to it.
See it: Diagram overlaying all three lines on sample shots.
Practise: Set up on 15 shots of varying angles, checking alignment before striking.
Test yourself: Quiz: mark the correct contact point on 5 diagrammed shots.
Challenge: Pot 10 straight-ish shots focusing only on alignment, ignoring pace.
Common mistakes: Aligning the body to the pocket rather than the object ball's contact point.
Coaching cue: Aim at the ball, not the pocket.
Completion criteria: Correctly identifies contact point on 4/5 quiz diagrams and self-corrects alignment before 8/10 practice shots.
